THE PRESIDENT'S PERSPECTIVE - SPRING 2011
By Kevin Varley President I.A.A.I. - Ontario Chapter

The IAAI-Ontario Chapter would like to wish everybody a safe and enjoyable Spring Season.

As mentioned in my fall message, we are planning a seminar for 2011. It is with pleasure that we advise the membership of the release of the registration details for an

Upcoming seminar June 6-10, 2011 at Brock University in St. Catharines, ON.

You will find the details on the Seminar link of our webpage.

Based on the results of the questionnaire circulated to the membership earlier in the year regarding your educational needs, it was determined that a number of you wish to participate in an Advanced Electrical Cause and Determination seminar. Accordingly we are in the process of organizing a seminar for an

Advanced Electrical Cause and Determination seminar for the Fall of 2011.

The 2010 / 2011 winter season is hopefully gone for another year. The skates and skis can be hung up for another season. As always, a number of our members enjoyed participating in community events organized by volunteers this past winter.

Many communities have a number of organizations with numerous volunteers that play fundamental roles in communities across Counties, Regions, Provinces, Canada and the World. It is with deep sadness that the Fire Service Community lost two dedicated Volunteer Firemen, Ken Rea and Ray Walter of North Perth Fire Service on March 17, 2011. Ken and Ray, along with their fellow volunteer firemen, were protecting their community fighting a fire, something they have both done countless time in the past. Both Ken and Ray played key roles in their community and they will be sadly missed.

On behalf of the Executive of the Ontario Chapter of the IAAI we extend our condolences to the families of Ken Rae and Ray Walter and the Firefighters of North Perth.

Best regards,

Sincerely, Kevin Varley President, Ontario Chapter IAAI
